“MUMMY-LICIOUS” HALLOWEEN TREATS FOR KIDS

Mummy-licious Halloween Treats for Kids"Mummy-licious" Halloween Treats for Kids

Ok, guys so when I decided to create these little mummy halloween cookie treats, I had no idea what they were going to look like at the end but I had a feeling they would taste good. I mean Oreo cookies dipped in chocolate – can you really go wrong?! This was my second attempt (in life) to use fondant. My first attempt was horrific! I tried to drape fondant over a mini cake and it looked more like a mozzarella ball so I told myself never again! But I figured since I am only using strips of fondant as the dressing for the mummy – it’s not supposed to be perfect, so I had nothing to loose, right?

If you have kids, this would make a fun decorating idea to make with them this halloween!

Below are the items I used:

To make these cute “Mummy-licious” halloween cookie treats:

  • Start out by laying a sheet of wax paper on a baking sheet. Then place a baking cooling rack on top of the wax paper and set aside.
  • Follow the instructions on the back of the Ghirardelli Classic White Baking Chips to melt the chocolate
  • When the chocolate is melted, place your cookie on the Candy Melt Dipping Spoon and dip it inside the bowl of melted chocolate. Using the dipping spoon, carefully flip the cookie so that both sides of the cookie is covered with chocolate. Transfer the dipped cookie on the cooling rack. Repeat this process until each cookie has been dipped in the melted chocolate.
  • Let the cookies cool for 1-2 hours.
  • Cut a small piece of fondant and using your fingers, grab a tiny piece of the fondant and place on the backside of each candy eyeball and place on the cookie. (The fondant will act as the glue to adhere to the cookie).
  • Cut a thick piece of fondant and with a rolling pin, roll out the fondant until flat.
  • Cut thin strips of the fondant and begin to decorate your cookie. To create the mummy dressing, you can use anywhere from 4-6 strips on each cookie.

I was able to make a dozen cookies with one 11 oz bag of chocolate. Note: You will have plenty of fondant leftover. You can store it for another baking project! (wink)

Have fun creating these “mummy-licious” halloween chocolate covered cookie treats!
