Hi, I’m Rose!

My family knows me as Rose Angel, but my friends simply call me Rose. I was born and raised in New York and now call Pennsylvania home.

I’m the founder and creative heart behind Design by Occasion, a little corner of the internet where I get to share my love for decorating, flowers, entertaining, and all the beautiful details that make everyday life feel special.

I’ve always had a love for pretty things, especially when it comes to the home. I can spend hours rearranging a room, styling a table, creating a floral arrangement, or finding just the right piece to finish a space. There’s something about bringing all those little details together that makes me happy.

But there’s another part of my story that has shaped the way I see and appreciate life.

For 20 years, I’ve been living with ovarian cancer. It hasn’t always been an easy journey, but my faith in God, the love of my family, and my passion for creating have helped carry me through some of the more difficult days. My faith has taught me to appreciate life’s blessings, both big and small, and to find hope and gratitude even in the midst of uncertainty.

Through it all, decorating and designing have remained a constant source of comfort and joy. They’ve become more than just hobbies for me. They’re a creative escape, a form of therapy, and something that continues to lift my spirits, even on the more difficult days.

Who would have thought that arranging flowers, styling a pretty vignette, or simply lighting a beautiful candle could make such a difference? But for me, they do.

I find joy in the little things — a beautifully set table, fresh flowers, the changing seasons, a favorite family tradition, or gathering with the people I love.

And while I appreciate beautiful interiors and thoughtful details, I’ve come to realize that creating a beautiful life is about so much more than how things look. It’s about the memories we make, the people we share them with, the blessings we sometimes take for granted, and finding moments of happiness along the way.

That’s really what Design by Occasion is all about.
