ST. PATRICK'S DAY DINNER ENTREE AND DESSERT RECIPE IDEAS

‘Green Pasta with Sweet Turkey Sausage Crumble’

This dish is pretty simple to make, I included the recipe at the bottom of this post. One quick and easy way to make this dinner entree green was by adding pesto to your pasta! For the sausage links, I removed the casing and added three ingredients that boosted some delicious flavors…fresh garlic, Worchestire sauce and white wine. Secret ingredients that my aunt shared with me!

ST. PATRICK'S DAY DINNER ENTREE AND DESSERT RECIPE IDEAS

‘Green Ombre Mini Cake Stack’

I love anything ombre so for this dessert recipe, I simply used a yellow cake box mix (you can use your favorite brand), followed the directions on the back of the box and separated the batter in two seperate bowls. I then added green food coloring to each batter. Keep adding food coloring to achieve your desired color of light green and dark green. Once the cakes were baked in separate baking pans, I let them cool and then used a round cookie cutter to cut out the shapes. For the filling, I made homemade whipped cream and added mint (not peppermint) extract as well as 3 drops of green food coloring. For the frosting, I cheated and bought a tube of green frosting. To complete this mini cake stack, I added a festive touch by topping each mini cake stack with a St. Patty’s Day Milk Chocolate Coin that I found in the Dollar Section at Target. Okay, so admittley, it doesn’t win an award for the prettiest cake ever but it is yummy and I think kids and adults alike will enjoy.

I hope you enjoyed yesterday and today’s St. Patrick’s day themed posts. For more St.Patrick’s day party ideas, check out the below posts:
