Have you guys checked out the new Netflix series called Tidying Up with Marie Kondo? It inspired me to tackle reorganizing my drawers! While my clothes were folded, the drawers were stuffed and anytime I would open one drawer, the drawer below it would open. I normally purge my clothes 2-3 times a year to avoid a cluttered closet but it was time to get into my drawers reorganize my summer tops, tees, loungewear, and PJ’s.

It is suggested when purging and organizing your clothes, you should remove ALL your clothes from either the closet or drawers and pile them up in one area. A helpful tip I found when purging a piece of clothing is seeing if it “sparks joy”. It’s an easy way to decipher if you are going to keep or donate – based on the positive feeling you feel when holding it. Following the folding method for tops by Marie, is a great way to not only organize your tops but leaves you with more room for adding more tops than it is by folding flat.

Looking to re-organize your tops? Follow the folding method below.

Marie Kondo Tees & Shirts Folding Method:

  • Create a rectangle in the middle
  • Fold in half
  • Fold in thirds
  • Aim for a small rectangle that you can store and stand in your drawer.

I’m looking forward to viewing more tips & tricks and reorganizing more drawers in our home!
