DIY EDIBLE TREE TOPPERS: Winter White Cake

WINTER WHITE CAKE

Ok dear readers, let me first preface by saying… “Pinterest made me do it!”  After perusing through all the holiday dessert boards, I decided to try my hand at decorating a holiday cake. All right, I know, this is not the best looking cake you ever saw but it sure does taste good! You can’t go wrong with using my go-to Barefoot Contessa Coconut Cake recipe with vanilla and almond flavor! For the tree toppers, I used ice cream cones, turned them upside down and poured melted Lindt White Chocolate (you can use melt candy coating or cake frosting too). I then finished them off by sprinkling shimmering white sugar and adding white edible sugar pearls. If you want to get creative and precise, you can strategically place each pearl on the ice cream cones by using decorating tweezers, unlike my way of slapping them on…sigh! Anywho…here’s a great link on how to make Christmas Tree Cake Toppers.

If you decide to give it a whirl, I hope it turns out better than mine did! But you can’t knock a girl for trying, right?

P.S. See how I decorated our house for the holidays, full tour tomorrow!
