FALL HOME DECOR AND DECORATING IDEAS FOR YOUR LIVING ROOM

FALL HOME DECOR AND DECORATING IDEAS

This is my first fall decor blog post…I know it has been a while since my last post. If you follow me on Instagram, I shared the reason why. I plan on posting an update on my continued cancer journey, here on the blog – stay tuned. Until then, I’m sharing fall home decor and decorating ideas as inspiration for your living room.

Well, the Fall season is officially here in Pennsylvania with its brisk mornings and chilly evenings. To strike the perfect seasonal mood, I gave our living room a seasonal refresh by transitioning our living room decor from summer to fall. I love incorporating seasonal touches into our decor throughout the year – it makes each season more enjoyable. I like to blend old pieces with new. When selecting seasonal decor accents, my goal is to choose neutral and timeless pieces so I can reuse them every year. Rather than decorating the whole house (I only do that for Christmas), I create vignettes in the eye-catching spaces of our home – like our living and dining room. You can incorporate minimalist fall decor without overdoing a theme in a room in order to get a chic living space.

Here’s how I made our living room cozy for Fall.

Bring out the color the Season

Since I recently added a beautiful French blue accent color to our living room space with new decorative pillows, I wanted to choose a seasonal color that would compliment the blue hues. My original plan was to go with a deep rusty gold and ivory-cream tones but then I found these peach-colored velvet pumpkins and fell in love! Since this is the color palette I used over the summer, I was happy that I can easily transition it to the fall season. While peach is not a traditional color when you think of Autumn, the color does appear in a variety of real heirloom pumpkins in muted tones such as light pink and a soft peachy-coral color.

Decorate with Minimalist Fall Decor

When transitioning our living room decor from summer to fall, the goal is to always compliment the current esthetic of our living space. You will want to choose items that match or enhance you decor style.

I decorated with decor pieces that have a natural, organic vibe to them where they feature stunning luxe gold branch details and leaf-inspired designs. These decor accessories can be used from autumn into the winter season.

First up is this ‘Gold Metal Branch Decorative Piece with Glass Tea-light Candle Holders’ that I placed on one of the end tables that flank our sofa. I displayed this ‘Beige Color Block Ginger Jar with Gold Accent’ and in front of it, I displayed this gold coaster set that are layered on top of each other to look like a pine cone (I bought this a couple of years ago from Target).

On the opposite side of the sofa, I dressed up the end table with this ‘Agate Glass Bowl’ and filled it with this decorative foam white pumpkin vase filler (they seem to be out of stock). Here is a similar option – you can easily do a DIY by brushing the stems with gold craft paint. In our ‘Laurel Wreath Monogram Ginger Jar’, I arranged a mix of some faux hydrangeas I had from last year and these new ‘Faux Lace Hydrangea Bundle‘ in an Amber color.

Light some Autumn-scented Candles

On one of our accents tables, I displayed this gold ‘Small Metal Leaf Tray’ and housed this ‘Aurelie Autumn Glass Jar Candle’ in a Pumpkin & sweet Vanilla scent on a gold clawfoot tray that came with a clear glass dome. For a fall touch, I added a real pinecone inside of it.

Oversized Gold Metal Snack Bowl

On our second accent table, I filled this ‘Oversized Gold Metal Snack Bowl’ with gold beaded apples I found last year at an antique store and added some real pinecones for more texture.

Showcase the Season

One of the ways I gave our living room space a cozy and warm feel is by decorating our fireplace mantel. Not only can you bring out the color of the season here but this is a great place to add pumpkins and something organic with either fall foliage or garland (real or faux). Peach & white velvet pumpkins and faux eucalyptus stems grace our fireplace mantel. I used two variations of eucalyptus – this one and this similar option to one I already owned.

On top of our media cabinet, I displayed this ‘White Glass Bowl with Gold Leaf Stand’ where I store two of our remote controls and I used this ‘Round Clawfoot Dish’ to display another fall scented candle.

When styling our ottoman tray, the focal point definitely had to be a beautiful fresh floral arrangement. I knew I wanted to display blooms that included the peachy-coral hues of the velvet pumpkins and for it to also have some seasonal autumn touches like eucalyptus branches. I was so excited to have been able to get these blooms so that I could put together this flower arrangement, housed in this pretty ‘White Glass Bowl with Gold Round Base’. To finish off the look on the ottoman tray, I used this ‘Long Slim Gold Metal Leaf Tray’ to display coasters, added this mini Peach Velvet Pumpkin, and of course a fall-scented candle because you know…you can never have too many candles!
