EASY FALL DECORATING IDEAS FOR YOUR LIVING ROOM

Octoberthe beginning of cool days, warm nights, sparkling fires, and the arrival of the holiday season!

It’s the beginning of Autumn and in case you have yet to pull out your autumn decor, I’m sharing easy ideas to help decorate your living room that may get you to feel inspired and in the mood for the change of the seasons.

I’ve got a few thoughts on on how to style your living room space – complete with autumnal touches such as pumpkins, a striking color palette, florals and more! When it comes to seasonal decorating, you want it to feel effortless and not overwhelming, that’s the trick for a well-curated space. You want to evoke happy and calm into your home, so a few autumnal touches here and and there, goes a long way. Whatever your style, make it your own and have fun with it!

PUMPKINS:

Too much or not nearly enough? Whether you like to incorporate real pumpkins or decorative ones when decorating your exterior or interior spaces – they definitely bring the fall spirit to your home. I incorporated olive green Velvet pumpkins in unexpected places, such as on our window bench and on our ottoman tray. I adore the elegant look of the velvet pumpkins combined with the casual and rustic look of the real pumpkin stem.

ADD COLOR:

Don’t feel chained to orange, red, and yellow combo! I swapped out a couple of our decorative pillows in lightweight summer fabrics for luxe velvet ones in rich fall shades. In our living space, we have muted colors – blue-greens and creamy whites. I added pops of olive green for contrast. The warm and contrasting rich textured decorative pillows, instantly add warmth.

COZY IT UP:

Embrace the nesting season with cozy throw blankets and get ready to cozy up by the fire.

ARRANGE FALL FLOWERS:

As you may know, I have a passion for creating flower arrangements, using either fresh or faux blooms. I removed all of my faux summer blooms and spiced up my fall flower display. I created two arrangements – one for the tray on ottoman and the other is displayed on one of the sofa end tables.

For the tray on our ottoman, I created lush layers using faux magnolias, anemones, roses, hydrangeas, and eucalyptus. To compliment the colors of the space, I used flower stems in creams, whites, and green.

For the second flower arrangement, I simply used a ginger jar to hold (4) magnolia branches. A tip for having a faux flower arrangement appear natural is to bend the head of the blooms and the stems to reflect the natural movement of a fresh bloom.

ELEGANT FALL-INSPIRED HOME DECOR:

When it comes to seasonal decor, you want to invest in pieces that fits cohesively with the rest of your decor. I swapped out our summer look and brought out seasonal home decor accessories, like figs, pine cones, and acorns – all adorned in a gold finish. Additionally, luxury home decor with an autumn theme such as, small trays shaped like an apple or a leaf – adorns spots in our living room.

SEASONAL CANDLES:

Having your home feel extra cozy this season definitely starts with delicious fall-scented soy candles. Popular fall scents with notes of warm woody aromas, apple and cinnamon, vanilla, white pumpkin, and spiced ginger can make your space more inviting with rich aromas inspired by fall memories.
