A “SHAMROCK” ST. PATRICK’S DAY TABLESCAPE THAT INCLUDES A HYDRANGEA, GARDEN-INSPIRED FLORAL TABLE RUNNER

ST. PATRICK'S DAY TABLESCAPE

Style a festive St. Patrick’s day tablescape this weekend!

Okay, so I’m not Irish but any excuse to set a pretty tablescape, I’m all for it! For those that do celebrate St. Patrick’s day and will be hosting a party this weekend, I’m hoping you will enjoy today’s tablescape inspiration that can totally be used as a spring tablescape too!

It was easy enough to know that I was going to include the traditional, vivid colors of green and gold as my base layers but I decided to incorporate an unexpected feature color of black. I love how the small touches of black hues are sprinkled around the tabletop! Black flatware, black and white gingham dinner napkins, and black taper candles, coupled with white, green, and gold brought the whole look of the tablescape together in such a cohesive way.

“Shamrock” Place Setting

I started out by dressing the table with a classic, crisp white tablecloth. For the place setting, I used my antique white dinner plates that feature a gold rim. These types of plates are a classic and can be used over and over again in different ways. To complement the dinnerware, I used my gold rim, clear goblet glasses that I had found antiquing but any gold rim drinking glass will do! The black & white gingham cloth dinner napkins were part of last years Sugar Paper LA holiday collection at Target but I found similar ones, here. For the flatware, I used these matte black iron flatware set. To make this place setting festive, I used gold shamrocks that I found in the dollar section at Target.

The Centerpiece: Green & White Floral Table Runner

If you haven’t noticed yet, this floral table runner is faux! I went to my storage bin and pulled out my spring faux florals. I used a mix of leafy greenery stems, similar to this one and this one, spray bunches – like this one, and these white hydrangeas. You can find a great selection of faux floral greenery and branches from Michael’s, JoAnn Fabrics, and Pier 1.

Ambiance

For a bit of ambiance, I added two of my antique brass candle holders and inserted black taper candles.

This tablescape was easy to put together. If you’ll be celebrating this weekend, grab your friends and host your very own St. Patrick’s day themed party using today’s tablescape inspiration!
