I recently featured on my insta story, these vintage light blue glasses that my mother bought for me while antiquing. She knows how much I adore colored glassware and my vintage glassware collection is ever-growing! The best part is my mom only paid $0.50 cents for each one!! Amazing, right?! I was inspired to create an outdoor summer tablescape using these glasses and since I do enjoy using my “nice dishes” on our outdoor dining table, I chose dinnerware that coordinated nicely. So today I wanted to share the details with you…

I decided to layer a simple white square dinner plate (that I wanted to serve as a charger) atop white bone china that has a light blue paisley motif. The dinner plate fit perfectly inside the circular indentation of the square plate. I decided against using my salad plates since it had the same design and I didn’t want to be too “matchy”, so I set them aside (In this instance, I would bring out the pre-plated salad to my guests.)  As for the flatware, I added a bit of elegance with my striking gold place setting for that bit of sparkle.

Since my color scheme was blue, I knew the perfect flowers to adorn the center of the table would be blue hydrangeas! I was lucky that the grocery store had an abundance of fresh blue and white hydrangeas to choose from. I housed my cluster of arranged hydrangeas in this clear Serafina Vase that has a beautiful clear & white ombré effect!

Finally, I used my Calvin Klein painted floral dinner napkins in a coordinating blue. I pulled the napkins through my Oleg Cassini crystal napkin rings. To complete the look, I tucked some flower petals inside each napkin ring for a soft and delicate look.

I wanted the look of the table to be light and pretty like the soft clear blue skies and puffy white clouds. By keeping the table essentials monochromatic with the same tone-on-tone and a hint of gold because after all a bit of glamour never hurt anyone…I’m happy of the way it turned out and how airy it looked with the outdoor greenery as the backdrop! Hoping you are feeling inspired to create your own blue-inspired tablescape for summer entertaining!
