As much as I enjoy cooking, sometimes after a long busy day the thought of preparing a meal that requires a bit of prepping time is not ideal. So I would like to share my quick and easy ravioli meal that takes under 25 minutes with zero prep time (okay maybe minus the 6 seconds to slice the basil) and more importantly it taste good too! This meal is so simple and only has 4 ingredients!
*serves 4
ingredients
- 1 bag (24 oz) of frozen Ricotta Cheese Ravioli
- 1 can of diced tomatoes (I use Delmonte diced tomatoes zesty mild green chilies – I like a little spice and it requires no seasoning on my part)
- 1 jar of pasta sauce ( I use Sundried Tomato Alfredo Sauce)
- 3 Fresh Basil leaves, sliced
instructions
- Follow the cooking directions on your frozen bag of Ravioli
- After your raviolis have boiled and are ready to be drained, place them back in the pot you used
- Add the whole can of diced tomatoes (I do not drain the tomatoes )
- Add the jar of pasta sauce
- Gently stir all together and cover the pot with a lid
- Lower your flame to a low/medium heat
- Slice your fresh basil leaves and set aside
- Occasionally stir the raviolis as you want the sauce to thicken (it should take no more than 15 minutes to reach a nice consistency)
Once you have plated your food, top the ravioli with fresh sliced basil.
Enjoy!
