When it comes to entertaining, acrylic and plastic tableware designs have come a long way from the alternative disposable paper plates and cups. You can now serve in style at your summer celebrations with fancy-looking tableware that will have your guests thinking it’s real chinaware! Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE using my favorite dishes but admittedly, the bonus to having disposable tableware makes cleanup a snap – leaving no one stuck doing the dishes, especially when you’re hosting a very large crowd.
This past weekend, I created an outdoor tablescape for a summertime get-together that felt as beautiful and carefree as the weather. Take a look…
To create a casual and relaxed setting, I mixed my tableware pieces; acrylic wine and tumbler glasses combined with elegant disposable plates, premium heavyweight plastic silver flatware and rather than using paper napkins, I used pink polyester napkins (they are durable fabric and can be laundered for countless uses).
To complement the table settings, I created a DIY floral arrangement using my two-tier milk glass dessert tray stand I had purchased while antiquing. To create a summer-savvy flower centerpiece, I selected pretty blooms in pink, white, yellow and green. For the first tier I used four small votive glass candle holders to hold a mini bouquet of flowers in each of them and for the bottom tier, I inserted water tubes in each of the flower stems and arranged the flowers by creating layers.
Let me know in the comments section below if you are interested in having me post a tutorial of my DIY floral arrangement! It’s pretty easy, you’ll enjoy making it and your guests will be wowed!
To match the party’s casual summer vibe, I served a filet mignon steak salad and paired it with a glass of wine. When using disposable tableware, it’s best to have a light fare type lunch or dinner.
To create your own summer social, I’ve rounded up these pretty entertaining essentials, a couple of which are what I used and the others are similar items I found.
