Whenever I dine out for Indian cuisine, I always ask for a ‘Sweet Lassi’. Not only is this yogurt based drink really good but it also helps to cool down your mouth when you are eating spicy food! There are a few fruit based lassi’s, like mango but I decided to follow this lassi recipe from epicurious. With a slight variation, I added three fresh mint leaves into the blend mixture.
Here are the main ingredients. The recipe calls for sugar, I used Sugar In The Raw verses white refined sugar. If you prefer not to add sugar, you can substitute with honey.
As a follow-up to Friday’s post, I mentioned that I was going to try out new recipes over the weekend…it was an epic fail guys! I was trying my hand at Persian rice (Tah-dig) and chicken kabob. The kabob came out ok but the rice, let’s just say it was that bad! As a Puerto Rican, we eat lots of rice and I am no amateur to cooking it but having eaten Persian rice many times before, I never knew the many steps it takes. My good friend who gave me the recipe laughed when I told him how it came out and replied… “honey, no one gets it right the first time.” He promised me a cooking lesson next time I visit!
Hope you enjoy the Strawberry Lassi!
