OUTDOOR DECK DECOR

Ever since we expanded our deck last year, I’ve added a few new decor items, like these Threshold outdoor pillows that is the same color and has a similar pattern as my outdoor area rug (which you can see here). I purchased only two of these pillows so that I can add them to the chairs that sit at the head of the table. I’m looking for new dining seat cushions but haven’t found “the one” yet. I made a terrible mistake of not taking my two planters in from the cold winter months and needless to say they cracked in half! So I replaced the broken ones with one flower pot and two resin planters.

We all know that during the summer months, flying insects can be a pain when you are trying to enjoy the outdoors so I’m happy to see that citronella candles are coming in pretty decorative candle jars that can coordinate well with the rest of your outdoor decor. I purchased the one in the picture below from TJMaxx. It isn’t summer yet but I actually had to light this baby up this past Saturday morning because two large bumble bees decided to buzz around and it was anything but relaxing as we are swinging our pillows and throws and ducking our heads as they come flying in like they want to attack! I swear one of the bees just stood in place, while in midair, directly in front of me for at least 5 seconds. The bee would then fly away and come back to do the same thing at which point I shouted…”Do I know you? Are you re-incarnated as a bee?!” Obviously, I was joking and we laughed but it was so strange! And no, I didn’t have on any perfume and we were not eating anything. Of course, I was being made fun of and was told it could have been my bright pink and orange pajama pants and the bees are mistaking me for a large flower! Enjoying the morning was short-lived as we let the bees enjoy buzzing around and in the house we went.
