Let the dark shadows and flickering candlelight that cast a glowing greeting inspire a tablescape for your indoor halloween entertaining.
It didn’t take much to evoke an enchanting, yet alluring mystery of a dark autumn halloween night. I created a less frightful and spookishly tabletop. I instead, conjured up a marvelously moody, romantic table for all to gather – fit for a halloween fête (costumes optional).
As a backdrop for the spellbound hallows eve, I covered the table in a black flock velvet damask fabric and draped it to the floor. I created a runner by layering a black toiled netting cloth along the center of the table. For the place setting, I kept the chic black theme from the dinnerware and flatware, to my vintage silver rimmed glassware. For a lustrous glow, I added small gold pumpkin candles and gold doilies, placed on each plate, underneath the coupe glass. Black taper candles that features a gold patterned design were inserted in clear glass candelabras. For a bit of halloween decor, I used beaded spider ornaments (similar found here) made out of black acrylic gems and I wrapped each one to a dinner napkin – creating a napkin holder. Red roses are the essence of modern romance, so I created a centerpiece filled with an abundance of long stem roses. I housed the roses in a black lacquered vessel that featured scroll design handles, which mimicked the damask table fabric.
We all know that halloween is about tricks and treats, so don’t forget the sweets!
