As we transition from warm days and cool nights of spring to hot days and warm nights of summer, changes in your bedding may help you from tossing and turning in the summer heat. There may be some people who switch out their bedding seasonally but if you are not one of those people, not to worry. There are just a few changes in “lightening up” your bedroom during the warmer months!
- A Lightweight Throw. Swap out your heavy winter throw for a lightweight (cashmere) throw. There’s nothing better than taking a nap during a weekend afternoon and while you may love to get underneath your cozy down comforter that feels like you’re sleeping on a cloud, unless you have your AC cranking high, a lightweight throw is perfect for keeping you comfy as you rest.
- Fluffy Pillows. A comfortable pillow is very important for a good night’s sleep when snuggling in your favorite sleep position. It’s a good idea to invest in a good pillow that is not only comfortable but has good support for your head and shoulders.
- Crisp Cotton Sheet Set. I’ve had many different colored sheet sets in rotation during my lifetime but no matter what the season, white sheets are my favorite! There is something about a clean crisp white sheet set that looks and feels dreamy…it makes you just want to dive right into bed!
- A Soothing Scented Candle. We all know that by adding a candle in a room automatically enhances any space, so whether you are taking a nap or had a long stressful day, light up a candle that has a soothing, relaxing, and captivating scent. The soft fragrance will instantly radiate tranquility, which will help you relax and dream away.
By making small changes like using a lighter colored sheet set and removing heavy layers on your bedding will instantly transform your bedroom space to a “lighter” one for the warmer months ahead!
