Style with the Seasons
A bar cart is one of those pieces that’s fit for any entertaining occasion. While many bar carts serve different functions, we use ours as a ‘wine cart’. We keep it in our living room for easy access to our wines, while sitting comfortably – conversing with friends and family. The dining room cabinet holds all of the spirits and liqueurs. Today, I’m sharing how you can greet guests with a seasonal styled bar (or wine) cart that will set the theme for your fall party.
A few simple changes can transform your bar cart! Making your bar cart part of your rooms design makes it look more intentional and styling it for the season, showcases it. Have fun decorating…a bar cart is a great place to have fun with decor. Read the steps below on how you can give it a fall vibe by decorating your bar cart with seasonal accents and decor.
- Step 1: The first thing I do when styling our bar (wine) cart for the fall or holiday season is to start with a clean slate by removing everything off the cart.
- Step 2: The next thing I do is to gather the glassware, decor, and seasonal accents I want to incorporate. I then begin with styling the top tier of the bar cart.
- Step 3: Rather than placing the bottles of wine and glassware directly on the bar cart, I first place a decorative tray to house them both so that it is seperate from the rest of the decor accessories.
- Step 4: Colored glassware is trending big right now. I’ve collected vintage colored glassware over the years and have also found beautiful colored stemware at HomeGoods for a great price! I replaced my clear wine glasses with statement glassware in autumn golden hues. For the wine bottles, I did pick pretty fall-like labels that had trees on them. I do however, keep our favorite go-to’s wine bottles on the bottom tier of the bar cart.
- Step 5: In order to give the wine cart a fall vibe, I decorated it with the following items…I used this Metal Gold Leaf Serving Tray to hold my beverage napkins. The bev napkins you see here are packs that I bought years ago and still have some left. These napkins are just as pretty! Add a fall scented candle and a floral arrangement with coordinating colors that compliment any other floral arrangement(s) you may have in the room.
- Step 6: For a festive detail, I added a bowl filled with real pumpkins to the bottom tier of the bar cart. I chose all white pumpkins since it’s part of the color scheme in our living room.
- Step 7: The “eye-catching” factor for this fall-inspired bar cart is this faux silver dollar seeded eucalyptus garland that I wrapped and had cascade down the front of the bar cart. To make it appear real, I tucked in a few left over baby blue eucalyptus, seeded eucalyptus, and heart eucalyptus sprays I had. Trader Joe’s is my go-to place for fall greenery and depending on the size of your bar cart, you don’t need much… I used approximately 6-7 cut stems from 3 different branches and they are usually packaged in a bunch.
Cheers to Fall!!
