INSPIRING MODERN HOTEL DESIGN TRENDS

Truth be told, aside from viewing reviews on specific hotels and prices, we tend to first look at the pictures of the hotel interiors for its charm and style before booking a room, no? Is it a reflection of our home decor style or is it one that appeals to how we would like our home to look…those may be the questions hotel’s target when designing their interior spaces by featuring a selection of gorgeous trends and embracing the direction of the latest in the design industry.

I’m often inspired by the aesthetic of hotels I visit and I like to bring the influence into my home – whether it be a color combination, a styled vignette or decor pieces I’d like to incorporate into my space. Take a peek inside two inspiring modern chic hotel spaces that I visited…

‘NoMo Soho’ – New York City

I can’t say enough about this neutral ultra-chic boutique hotel with its signature fusion of vintage and modern design. Their trendy indoor restaurant resembles a greenhouse and features several elegant chandeliers that evokes a bright shimmer that creates a dazzling effect.

The NoMo library is a place to hangout, have a cocktail and is also adjacent to a room for a private function.

Right behind the bookshelf is the ‘secret’ entrance…

The vintage reclaimed wood table and chairs, adorned with modern place settings anchors the dining room and off to one corner is the gorgeous, oversized tufted sofa. Between the wood table, the wood floors and the modern influences of the pendant lighting and sofa – it creates an elegant, relaxed and cozy ambience, without being too overdone.

‘The Embassy Row Hotel’ – Washington DC

I would describe the interior spaces of this hotel to be colorful, trendy, with an urban vibe. The birdcage chairs were definitely my favorite – not only are they dramatic, they were comfy too. I’ve seen these trendy accent chairs popping all over the place – especially in homes that either serve as dining chairs for the head of the table or used as accent chairs in a living room. Resembling a kitchen backsplash was a gray and white marble tile accent wall that served as a divider between the lobby area and the cafe/restaurant space.

Yellow and blue were the primary colors in the interior spaces and accents of gray was the secondary color. A mix of gold, chrome and black iron metals were the finishes of some of the decor accessories.
