Blush-Pink home decor – a confection of a color
Last week, I decided to visit Pier 1 and immediately upon entering the doors, I was mesmerized by the new home decor collections displayed on the shelves directly in front of me. From the popular blush-pink hue – they had modern pink & gold vases to traditional and timeless blue & white chinoiserie-type vases. These new decor accents have a more modern look than the colorful global-inspired pieces and farmhouse accessories, I am used to seeing in this store. The best part? They are so reasonably priced!
With blush-pink trending for the past few years (and hopefully will stick around for a while), this confection of color adds a fresh and sophisticated look to an interior space. If you’re a follower of my blog, you know that our living room has touches of blush-pink tones. It’s no secret blush & gold as well as white & gold are my favorite color combos! I love how this whisper-soft color creates a soft elegant space (especially when your main furniture pieces are a neutral color palette). When decorating with this color, I don’t think it’s a good idea to have too much of this tone (we’re not talking barbie pink!), yet adding a few touches in your space from decor accessories, decorative toss pillows or a throw – will create a softly muted interior.
I picked up two blush-pink vases with gold accents and added them to our side tables in the living room. Whether you’re looking to transform an entire room or just add a rosy-hued shade statement piece, take a closer look at the two decor accents I chose…
The first vase is this Pink & Golden Geometric Vase. What drew me to this piece is the high-contrast graphic detail. I believe gold accents are the perfect compliment to any color scheme – they are the jewel to a decor accessory!
The second vase I chose to bring home with me is this Pink Vase with Golden Rim. A couple of other vases I liked too is this Pink Teardrop Vase with Golden Rim and this Pink Vase with Golden Lines.
Are you a fan of blush-pink? A sure way to make this shade feel modern and elegant is to add plenty of warm, earth-tones, dark wood furniture as the base and accessorizing with touches of blush-pink will do the trick. This will create a muted version that can work seamlessly into a neutral color palette. If you want to try adding blush-pink decor but don’t want to commit, you can just add one furniture piece with this hue – like an accent chair or a sofa and keep the rest of the room neutral.
Happy decorating!
