DIY: OMBRE-WATERCOLOR & GOLD FOILED EASTER EGGS

Last year, I wanted to take a more simpler approach to decorating my easter eggs, so I had created these ‘No Fuss, No Mess, Easter eggs. After creating them, I was thrilled to have found out my decorated eggs (amongst others) were featured on Martha’s Good Eggs: Best Embellished Egg! This year, I used watercolor paint and for added glam, I embellished the eggs with gold foil.

It was pretty tempting to go crazy on using a variety of colors but I kept it simple and chose to paint a pink ombre.

It wasn’t too much of a messy project, I took my hard boiled eggs, used a fine pointed tip paintbrush and just swirled the color around until I got my desired shade of color. After the watercolor dried, I applied these Martha Stewart gilding sheets to finish decorating my eggs.

Clustered together with flowers (I used pink Hyacinthus) creates a pretty display on your easter table. You can also arrange a small arrangement like I did in the pic above, by using a cloche glass dome and place it on your coffee table, your foyer entry table, or any other vignette where you want to display your easter holiday decor!
