Although my company formed back in May, 2011, today is officially the 1st year anniversary of launching the website for Design by Occasion! To believe how time has flown by since my very first post back on October 1, 2013. Over the past several months, I’ve watched my readership grow steady and I’m thankful to all of you who pop in from all around the world either everyday or just once in a while to read my posts here on, ‘the noted’. Aside from my stationery business, I enjoy blogging and it is truly a labor of love. I hope to continue to share ideas with you and keep you inspired from recipes, entertaining, to home living and lifestyle!
Within this past year, I felt myself evolving in different things that does not solely include the designing and creating of greeting cards and social invites. I’ve had a wonderful opportunity to style this inspiration shoot and I will be styling a fall shoot in a couple of weeks (more on that soon)! From concept to conception, event styling is another creative outlet of mine. I find that while my passions increase in other avenues they all still correlate with Design by Occasion’s tagline; ‘Celebrating All Of Life’s Joys’. I also believe that while my goals and interest have shifted somewhat, it allows me to experience new things, grow the company in a direction that fulfills me, being able to form fresh and creative ideas and share them with you!
So what’s new with Design by Occasion? I am happy to announce that in the coming weeks we will be opening an Etsy online shop so that you will have access to purchase from my collection of handcrafted greeting cards! Each month, I will feature a limited edition of greeting cards to sell.
Etsy is a wonderful community full of talented artisans and creative people from around the world that sell unique goods. I’ve always found great finds on Etsy and featured several shop owners here on the blog.
It’s no secret of my obsession with home decor and accessories but as of late, I have a new found love for vintage pieces. In addition to my line of greeting cards for sale, I have curated a selection of beautiful vintage home & party decor that would be perfect for any occasion! These pictures show a glimpse of some of the items that will be for sale in my Etsy shop! Truth be told, there are some favorites that I don’t think I can part with (sigh). You may have seen similar as well as a modern spin on some of these vintage pieces in brand home accessory stores like here and here, or spotted them in online photo shoots from your favorite lifestyle and wedding sites, like here and here. These pretty items are in limited quantities so we will be able to rotate our inventory by bringing in new items to the shop!
What else is in the horizon? In 2015, we will be working on having an online shop right here, on the Design by Occasion’s website! Stay tuned, as I can’t wait to share what’s up our sleeves!
So there you have it my friends, the scoop on what’s happening inside the studio of Design by Occasion and what we are working on. I recently read this great inspiration quote from G.W. Burnap that says…“The grand essentials to happiness in this life are something to do, something to love, and something to hope for.” It’s the hope that fuels me to work for bigger and better things.
