Our Christmas vacation officially starts tomorrow! One of the things we enjoy the most when at home (before the festivities kicks in) is the downtime where we get to enjoy our decorated home, put on a holiday movie and cozy up by the fire. For some movie snacks, I created what I call my holiday dessert charcuterie board with a side of hot chocolate! Keep reading to see how I put this dessert board together.
The first thing to do when putting together this dessert charcuterie board is to use a holiday platter or board. I found this festive marble and wood sleigh board a couple of years ago at HomeGoods. The next thing to do is to get a selection of holiday candies, chocolates, cookies, and a baked item. Besides Trader Joe’s – Walmart and Target are two of my other go-to places to find a wide variety of holiday treats. Here are some of the items you can include on your board:
For the Holiday Dessert Charcuterie Board:
Baked goods:
Cookies:
- Milano Cookies
- Gingerman cookies
- Creme Filled Wafers
- Linzer Cookies
- Shortbread Festive Shapes Cookies
- Cranberry Almond Thin Cookies
Sweet & Salty:
Candy/Chocolate:
- Peppermint Bark
- Candy Canes or Mint Sticks
For the Hot Chocolate:
If you need to finish up wrapping gifts, turn up some holiday music, invite your besties and enjoy a dessert board, served alongside a warm cup of hot cocoa. If friday movie night at home with the kiddos is on the agenda, they are sure to enjoy this holiday dessert board!
Merry, Merry!!
