We’ll always have Paris!
For as long as I can remember, I’ve always wanted to visit Paris! A city filled with elegant architecture, opulent furnishing of the period, majestic palaces, lovely landscaped gardens, picturesque parks, trendy shops and cafes, tucked away alleys, and artful displays of blooming flowers…its like romantic poetry.
A few years ago, my spouse and I had even opened up an additional savings account and always referred to it as our “Paris account”. There were a couple of times where we ready to set a date to travel to France and then something always came up. Three years ago, we had a conversation and said for our 50th birthdays (in 2021), we will definitely make that the year to go…than COVID happened. Let’s throw in that my ovarian cancer came back and I needed six months of chemo, starting in August, 2019 and completed at the end of January, 2021. While the Pandemic has settled down earlier this year, we were still hesitant to travel, especially out of the country. But I do believe everything happens for a reason and timing is everything, so I know it will happen one day. In the meantime, I wanted to make this milestone birthday of turning 50 on July 25th, into a special and fun one…so I brought a little Paris to me!
Besides my love for decorating our home, creating memorable tablescapes and putting together beautiful floral arrangements, I also love creating sets for photoshoots. I was inspired and dreamed up scenes you would experience in Paris. I got in touch with my friend and talented photographer, Autumn Stankay of SkySight Photography and she was all in with capturing my ideas in photos that will last forever!
I am head over heels for every last detail expertly captured by Autumn. Keeping scrolling to view all the special touches for this dreamy Paris-inspired birthday photoshoot!
Meet me in Paris!
Cheers to 50 years!
Reaching the milestone age of 50 is celebratory enough but it’s even more of a special occasion as I continue to be blessed with good health with my cancer currently in a dormant state…Thank you Jesus! After completing six months of chemo earlier this year, battling and surviving cancer for the past 15 years, I feel so extra thankful for reaching what will be a memorable 50th!
So what else do we have planned for my birthday? Well, my spouse lovingly surprised me with an itinerary filled with a week of things I would like to do, places I would like to visit, and food I would like to try – all leading up to my birthday on Sunday, where we will celebrate at home. For all the behind the scenes snippets, follow me on Instagram where I will be sharing in my feed and my stories!
