Seeing Yellow, Green, White, and Gold
The first hint of spring’s arrival is upon us and the first holiday to celebrate is a spring St. Patrick’s Day dinner party. Whether you’re Irish, or simply Irish at heart, I’m sharing inspiration to set a pretty tablescape to kick off your St. Patrick’s Day dinner party celebration!
The spirit of St. Patrick’s Day is forever associated with its signature green and gold. These were the colors I decided to use, while incorporating white and yellow to brighten things up a bit more for that early spring vibe. The main inspiration for this tablescape are the flowers I chose to create a beautiful floral centerpiece. Hues of green came in a lush flower arrangement I made, filled with an array of flowers, like variegated clover hydrangea flowers that feature distinctive lime green blooms with creamy ivory streaks, Bupleurum that adds the perfect amount of green texture. It has the classic elements for a wildflower look. Also featured are white Canterbury Bells, yellow Sun Balls, and light yellow Stock flowers. Lastly, I included filler like Trachelium White Flowers. I arranged these flowers in a white bowl that is adorned with a gold textured rim. To help create a lovely arrangement, I used my glass flower frog that sits at the bottom of the bowl to hold flower stems firmly in place.
To recreate this tablescape, begin with a crisp white tablecloth. This serves as a neutral backdrop that will let the other elements on the table stand out. The table setting includes gold metallic placemats, layered with white plates that feature a gold rim. Alongside the dinner plates are vintage-inspired gold flatware and antique green-colored glassware, to complete the look.
For ambiance, gold taper candle holders of varying different heights are set centered to the left and right of the flower arrangement. Vintage tealight candle holders in a green ombre pattern are arranged in front and back of the floral arrangement and for a festive touch, I printed a free Happy St. Patrick’s Day printable sign from High End Pennies.
