The weather here in Western Pennsylvania can get be pretty sketchy in the month of April. Since it appears that we are finally in the clear for a good stretch of warm spring weather, we finally uncovered all our deck furniture yesterday. We gave the deck railing and wood floor a good cleaning and we are happy to be able to start using our outdoor living space this spring and summer!
Typically, when I host a lunch or dinner party outdoors, I love to use fresh flowers on the table or a potted flowering plant. However, when done right, sometimes it’s ok to use faux plant decor. The benefits are you don’t have to be concerned with your flowers wilting from the hot sun or flying insects wanting to perch on your flowering plant buds, and no need for water…you don’t have the hassle of caring for a live plant. However, I just had to add a touch of fresh blooms from my flowering plant – it added a bright and vibrant pop of color!
Inspired by my new faux boxwood topiaries from Home Goods, I decided to add a lush of green to the already greenery outdoors by pairing the topiaries with my boxwood leaves placemats. To add to this casual outdoor dining tablescape, I used my gray, vintage designed disposable plastic round plates (purchased from Marshalls), silver plastic flatware set, and my clear acrylic wine glasses and tumblers – all of which are perfect and ideal for outdoor entertaining. When all these decor elements and tableware essentials were grouped together, it gave a cozy and welcoming look!
I love how the design of the acrylic glassware looks like real glass!
What drew me to purchase these faux topiaries were the two-tone painted pot. The modern mix of light gray and gold is totally my style!
Our deck sits up high from the ground and we are surrounded by tall mature trees, which makes us feel like our deck is a tree house. I really like how the greenery continues to flow onto the outdoor dining table!
This tablescape was so easy to put together for easy-breezy spring entertaining…effortlessly chic! Happy Spring!!
