“Cause You bring beauty from my pain…” This

“Cause You bring beauty from my pain…” This line, this lyric from the song ‘Stay Strong’ by Danny Gokey hits me hard every time I hear it. And I mean that in a good way! Through my journey, I’ve prayed that the Lord offers me wisdom, that He continues to reveal His teachings and in doing so, He has opened my heart and mind to many things that has changed how I see things within myself and looking outward. To accept, to walk by faith, to rely on His strength and most importantly that He sees me and I see Him. Despite the disease, He has brought me so much love, comfort, compassion, mercy, attention, and awareness…this is “the beauty” He continues to bring to me. As I continue to walk the path He has graciously laid before me…“So I’ll praise You in the waiting and my faith will stay strong”. #cycle2

With this flower arrangement, I used a small pedes

With this flower arrangement, I used a small pedestal vase, inserted chicken wire that I molded into a circular shape and then secured it with tape. These beautiful white peonies have a hint of pink inside them and I felt they paired well with the hues of the tulips that have a light shade of pink and white. To make the arrangement look fuller, since some of the peonies have larger heads, I reflexed a few of the tulips. I had an idea of how I wanted the arrangement to look but at the end, I just let it take shape naturally by just using my instinct on where each bloom should go. That’s not the professional way of making an arrangement (not that I’m a professional) but I thought it turned out pretty well. What do you think?

I cherish the nostalgic memories of the meals from my childhood. Coming from a Puerto Rican household, our kitchen was always in full rotation of delicious traditional dishes. Whether it was my mother‘s arroz con habichuelas, a staple food that’s a big part of our culture, or her arroz con dulce, food has a way of transporting me back to the past. While things may have changed overtime, my mom is always there, bringing love and memories of my childhood through her cooking. As Mother’s Day approaches, I’m thankful for her, all the traditions she taught me, and for her endless love. As a woman now, the roles have shifted a bit, and now it has been my turn to create memories, filled with moments that make her feel love and appreciated. I take joy in setting the table, orchestrating every special detail. I want to show her the same love and gratitude she’s shown me…countless times before.

Had a good follow-up visit with my oncologist toda

Had a good follow-up visit with my oncologist today. While my body continues to repair and heal as I move into starting Cycle 2 next week, I relaxed by putting this flower arrangement using the prettiest pink peonies from Trader Joe’s! Nothing makes me happier than working with beautiful blooms.

I’m feeling like myself again…well my new norm

I’m feeling like myself again…well my new normal, that is. The past three days, after receiving chemo and getting a shot to boost my white blood cell count really took a toll on my body, to say the least but today is a very good day…Praise God!! That was a tuff hurdle but He made a way through for me. The sun is shining, the temperature reached 81! Did we just skip spring? Time to put the sweaters away and bring out the spring dresses. I added this sweet looking ginger jar from @thepermanentgarden to our accent side table and finding beautiful inspiration to incorporate this season from the book ‘Provence Style’ decorating with French country flare. Hope your Monday is going well.

Whenever I feel I need a post of energy or if my stomach is a bit upset, I will make my favorite ‘Iced Golden Dairy Latte’ recipe by @40aprons. Since I don’t drink milk, I use plant-based milk. After yesterday’s treatment, I find this drink helps. Golden turmeric drinks are known for its health benefits. You can drink this cold or if you prefer a creamer version, you can simply mix all ingredients in a small saucepan or pot and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for about 10 minutes or until fragrant and flavorful. Strain the drink through a fine strainer into mugs and top with a pinch of cinnamon and enjoy! Today’s morning prayer…Lord, may my desire align with your will and if your plan is different, may your will be done. “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the LORD. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. - Isaiah 55: 8-9. Waiting in the cancer center for my blood test results to come back had me feeling uneasy. Then I heard in my mind…”why are you worried? Know what it feels like to receive peace when faith is present.” I felt a calmness come over me and shortly thereafter, I was told my white blood cell count and platelets went up. Thank you Jesus❤️ I couldn’t have felt more thankful! After treatment was over, I had to get a Neulasta injector put on my arm to boost my white blood cell count after today’s dose of chemo. I hate needles so I was nervous but at the end, it wasn’t bad. I think the timer going off to alert you the needle was going in was the scariest! I literally jumped and scared those around me😲.

When it comes to ordering faux flowers from Amazon

When it comes to ordering faux flowers from Amazon, it can be a hit or miss. Luckily, it was a hit with these real-touch hydrangeas, I mean even the stems look realistic. But full disclosure: while the stems do bend, they don’t stay bent, they seem to bounce back. So a couple of options are, cut the stems to size in order to fit nicely inside a ginger jar or temple jar type vase or if you don’t want to cut them, bend the stems to size and wrap a rubber band around them so they won’t unbend. That’s what I did here in the second way I arranged them. No one will ever know😉.
