My family calls me by my full name…Rose Angel but friends call me Rose, for short. NY raised, PA based, I am the face behind Design by Occasion. As the founder and creative director of this lifestyle blog, I am also the face of a woman fighting each day (for the past 11+ years), battling ovarian cancer. I don’t allow this disease to cripple me…FU cancer! What keeps me going and feeling motivated is my strong desire to create and decorate. I dream up big ideas where I get to be my own creative director and share it on this blog.

My love for all things pretty are the driving force for the content I add to the pages of this blog. I have always been drawn to the beauty of design. My passion for interiors intersected with my love for all aspects of parties and at-home entertaining. From food and cocktail recipe conception, and flower arranging, to setting the table and adding all the special details, I genuinely get excited and energized. Who would have thought that adding my favorite decor pieces or setting a fabulous table would boost my spirit, but it does. Whether it’s how I decorate our home or when executing a tablescape, nothing gives me more joy than making things look beautiful. I enjoy dreaming up concepts and oh, how fulfilling it is.
