In the Woods with SkySight Photography & Design by Occasion: Fall Styled Family Photo Shoot Reveal

Last month, I had the wonderful opportunity to collaborate again with Autumn Stankay of SkySight Photography on a photo shoot project where I was able to style her Fall Family Mini Photo Sessions and I’m excited to share this feature with you, filled with gorgeous family moments!

One of the most beautiful times of the year to have a family portrait taken is in the Fall, with its rich changing foliage and spectacular colors. So with nature being the backdrop for this picturesque scene, the idea that inspired the photo shoot was a french-styled vintage sofa from the lovely ladies at Vintage Alley Rentals. It was the perfect rental piece that inspired the design. To enhance and add interest to the outdoor surroundings, the idea was to create a simple, cozy but intimate, vintage-like living room area in the woods to take center stage. The site for this shoot was situated on a private property of a wonderful family who graciously allowed us to set up for this photo shoot event. With a plethora of mature trees, secluded in the woods, and all the vibrant fall colors on display, it was the perfect spot!

Other details that contributed to the Fall setting were vintage books, an old and worn wood coffee table, touches of gold decor and to complete the look, a floral arrangement was designed with the colors of the season, made by Le Jardin Florals. To keep with a more traditional look, I styled another area where each family gathered on a picnic blanket with color coordinated pillows, a basket full of apples (which I think was a favorite of the little ones) and an added element to the setting were two gorgeous floral wreaths hanging from the trees, also made by Le Jardin Florals.

I was so impressed with Autumn’s creative ability to capture each family in a different way, making each photo unique and special to each family!
