Celebrating all who make your life happy.
For a gathering of close friends this Valentine’s Day, I have put together a Galentine’s Tablescape and Bar Cart dressed in ‘blooms and hearts’ to celebrate the love of friendships.
The Tablescape
Keep the tablescape sophisticated and modern with a palette of pinks, splashes of gold, and ombre pattern. I stopped by JoAnn Fabrics and found a beautiful pale pink sequin fabric with an ombre pattern to dress the dining table. I created a centerpiece by mixing in blooms in different shades of pinks, from the palest to the deepest hues, and included some white too. The floral selection included roses, spray roses, ranunculus, and hyacinth. For a bit of whimsy, I took two photo booth props that read “Be My Galentine” and “Besties” and tucked them into the floral centerpiece. I also added two mini blooms to the table…can you tell which one is real and which is faux?!
To keep the table feeling airy and bright, I used my clear glass dinnerware and coordinated it with semi-matching goblets and my pink vintage wine glasses. Alongside the dinnerware, I used white and gold flatware and instead of using cloth napkins, I laid these Pink with Gold-foiled Heart Beverage Napkins. They added the color and heart motif I was looking for.
For each place setting, I set white wooden with gold painted edge heart shaped place card holders atop of each plate, accented with a mini spray rose bouquet. You can find these inexpensive place card holders at the dollar section in Target.
For a soft and subtle ambiance, I added tall, clear glass votive candle holders and inserted floating candles. Tip: for a bit of a “girly” vibe to the votive candle holders, I added a teaspoon of the juice from Maraschino Cherries to the water to achieve the pale pink colored water. If you have pink food dye, that will work too!
The Bar Cart
In keeping with the ‘bloom’ theme, I knew right away when I saw this Green and Pink Artificial Baby’s Breath & Camellia Garland that I was going to style it on our bar cart. I used two of them here. If you don’t own a bar cart, you can use this garland on your buffet cabinet, use it a table runner on your dining table, or create a pretty backdrop on a wall, for fun selfies! You can use trays or platters in heart-shapes or that has a heart-shape design on it to hold your dessert(s) and/or champagne flutes. Since this is a Galentine’s Day party theme, #GALS beverage napkins I found at the dollar section in Target, are so fitting.
If you plan to take selfies, you can house your photo booth props on the bottom tier of your bar cart. The final decorative touch is of course…balloons! They also make for fun selfies by throwing them up in the air.
Now that I’m four months in of living a vegan lifestyle, gone are the days of sugary sweets and nostalgic candy (however, if that’s what you’re looking for, check out this post from last year…Galentine’s Day Bar Cart. or this Galentine’s Chocolate and Wine Styled Bar Cart). For a healthier Valentine’s dessert option, I hopped on Pinterest to find a vegan dessert recipe that is not only fitting for the Galentine’s / Valentine’s day holiday but one that doesn’t sacrifice flavor. I tried this ever-so-easy Chocolate Covered Snickers Stuffed Dates recipe from Brittany of Eating Bird Food and let me tell you guys…it is DELICIOUS! We literally ate seven of them in one sitting! Pair these yummy treats with fresh, sweet strawberries and your guests will enjoy these decadent treats! The only thing I tweaked in the recipe is I added 1 teaspoon of Pure Vanilla Extract to my melted chocolate and instead of garnishing these chocolate bites with crushed peanuts, I used cashews.
I hope you have been inspired to celebrate those you love by hosting your very own ‘Hearts & Bloom’s Galentine’s Day get-together. So get out the calendar, and select a party date, then look forward to a great time with friends. To set the vibe, tempo, and tone, I created a Galentine’s Day Party Playlist below!
Later this week, I’ll be sharing more Valentine’s Day inspiration! Check back to see how I created a Dinner for Two tablescape that will include a delicious vegan dinner.
