Happy Friday, everyone! What are you guys up to this weekend? The weather has been so frigid this whole week. We literally have large chunks of ice cascading down the exterior of our entryway! Every morning when we open the door, we have to peek above the door to ensure the icicles that have formed into deadly daggers won’t come down and stab us in the head! We find ourselves breaking them morning and night…so looking forward to warmer temps this weekend – even if it’s only going to be in the 40’s.
For today’s post, I wanted to share a few of my favorite finds that include both home decor accessories and a new addition to our cookbook shelf that is so much more than just pages of recipes!
First up are these Project 62 – gold Taper Candle Holders! They come in various sizes, ranging from short, medium, and tall. The stature of these candle holders definitly creates an impact on this 8-seater dining table. I also like the contrast of the sleek gold metal against our Linear strand crystal chandelier – keeping it stylish and sophisticated! Surrounded by the cluster of candle holders is this gorgeous decorative bowl! When I first laid eyes on this Clarke Bowl, I knew it would be a great addition to our dining table.
This bowl is extremely large – it has a modern white glossy finish with a gold-rim base. It looks stunning with nothing in it but I’m already pondering on what I can put inside this bowl!
This glam scalloped jewelry tray is so stylish and versatile – it can be used to house just about anything! Since I already have a custom jewelry draw, for now – I chose to use this tray to hold our house/car keys and it’s large enough to hold other essentials like our sunglasses.
If you recall last week’s ‘Friday’s Favorite Finds’ post, I mentioned that I was invited to Lindsey Smith of Food Mood Girl cookbook launch. Nationally recognized author, health coach, speaker, and blogger spoke about her newly released ‘Eat your Feelings – The Food Mood Girl’s Guide to Transforming your Emotional Eating with recipes‘. Lindsey automatically grabbed my attention when she described why we emotionally eat, understanding our own food cravings (and what they really mean) and how we can then incorporate healthier substitutes. Finally! A way to decrease anxiety, enhance a mood, without the guilt!
Her guide has a chock full of helpful tips from…useful how-to’s, food definitions, benefits of certain spices, spice charts to help you create cultural culinary cuisines, how you can keep your pantry stocked with mood-boosting snacks, quick and easy recipes for every emotion you are feeling, and so much more! I had a brief chance to speak with the charismatic Lindsey – this is her third book and I really enjoyed hearing about her real life experiences and how she dealt with them by making better choices…“This is the only body and life you have, so LOVE IT UP the best you can” – (Food Girl Femifesto). A great read and resource guide to start out the New Year with!
Have a good one, guys!
