Hello friends and Happy September! I hope you had a great Labor Day weekend and an ah-mazing summer!
As we move into the harvest hues of the Autumn season, we are automatically inspired by the warm gatherings of the closest of friends and family, indulging in the spirit of the season. So today, I wanted to share with you a delicious spread (with an unexpected addition) that my sister and I created, during my recent visit to her house.
Whether you are hosting a party or have impromptu guests, by always having some food staples on hand – you can easily create an impressive cheese platter to serve to your guests.
To create this assorted platter, we found everything we needed by purchasing all of the items you see from Trader Joe’s. The sweet addition you ask? Why, chocolate of course! (wink). Below details a list of what we used…
CHEESE
- Havarti with Dill
- Xtra Sharp Cheddar Cheese
- Baby Swiss
- White Stilton with Apricots
MEATS
- Pepperoni
- Beretta hot Sopressata Salami
CRACKERS/BREAD
- Cheese Sticks
- Raisin Rosemary Crisps
- Multi-grain Crackers
- Butter Crackers
- Toasted Parmesan Bread
CHOCOLATES
- Chocolate Coconut Almonds
- Milk Chocolate with Hazelnuts
FRUIT
- Concord Grapes (the best tasting!)
NUTS
- Cashew Macadamia Delight trek Mix with Pineapple, Cranberry and Almond
To pair the combination of sweet and salty flavors of our cheese platter, we poured a bottle of merlot in one decanter and a white wine in another. This gives your guests the option of their wine choice.
To draw guests in, I used the top of my sister’s bar cabinet to display the wine, glasses, beverage napkins, cheese platter, appetizer plates and added a couple of decorative items such as the gold taper candle holders and a beautiful fall-inspired floral arrangement that my sister put together.
To make it easier and quicker for your guests to grab, I pre-cut all the cheese, minus the crumbly kind.
I mean who wouldn’t mind a mix of sweet and salt?! I for one enjoy a glass of wine with either and in this case, with both.
We hope that you loved our Sweet & Salty Assorted Cheese Tray and it has inspired you to create your own for your next gathering! It’s also perfect for the holidays!
