Invite your bestie’s over for movie night and watch a romantic comedy. Since chocolate is the standard essential for Valentine’s and it pairs so well with wine – set up your bar cart with a scrumptious dessert (heavenly chocolate confections of course) and thoughtful decorative accents to celebrate everyone dear to you! Wondering what wine to pair with your chocolate? A sweet dessert wine is suggested but take a look at this helpful Pairing Guide by ProFlowers…
A couple of basic wine and chocolate pairing rules mentioned in this post is 1. the wine should be a sweet as the chocolate and 2. Pair by color. The darker the chocolate, the darker the wine.
I gave an ordinary boxed chocolate cake mix some pizzazz by adding raspberry jam filling, covered with chocolate ganache, decorated with chocolate heart pieces, and crowned with a rose bud. Indulgent? Yes, indeed! It may not appear to be the best looking cake but I can attest to how delicious it is! I also added some chocolate covered cherries and chocolate truffles to the bar cart.
For those of you who may be interested – the #Gals balloon and the tassel garland was purchased at the dollar section at Target. I couldn’t find the ballon online but found something similar here.
How will you be celebrating Valentine’s day this year? Let me know in the comments section below!
