Hello Sunshine, Hello Spring!
The season change from winter to spring is finally here! Now our interior can soon match our exterior…cheerful hues that add to the shifting colors of the outdoor scenery. I think many of us have been longing for warmer and longer sunnier days – I know I have. Whenever I refresh a space in our home for the season, I may add a few new decor pieces and/or swap out some accessories but the one favorite thing I continually do that can instantly change the mood and feel of an interior space is with flowers – faux, fresh, or even a mix of the two!
The day before yesterday, I stopped by our local nursery to look for two flowering indoor plants so that I can pull out our planters with stands and dress our fireplace hearth (I share more of this towards the end of this post). As I was about to checkout, I noticed a table filled with an array of beautiful floral stems and eye-catching cherry blossoms that were all so life-like! It didn’t take long before I picked up a bunch of pink cherry blossom branches and a few snapdragons that can easily be mistaken for the real thing. I couldn’t wait to get home so I can work on how I plan on styling them and decide which room would be decorated with which arrangement.

When decorating our living room and bedroom, I decided to use all my faux blooms and create arrangements. Does this mean I won’t incorporate fresh flowers on some days, heck no! Bringing in the beauty of an outdoor garden indoors – even with faux blooms can look just as good as the real thing when selecting good quality faux stems.
Cherry blossoms embodies the boundless joy of spring. I decided to make them the focal point here in our living room. I used a white lattice ginger jar to house the cherry blossom branches. I found similar ones, here.
Easter may be a month away but the stores shelves are filled to the rim with Easter decor and candy so why not start early and indulge in some decadent chocolate eggs that I have here on this gold peacock fanned out tail.
When it comes to decorating with coffee table books, I like to coordinate the hues with the other objects on the tray to create a story. I swapped out my coffee table books I had there with this lovely Vintage Roses hardback.
For the side table, I created a little vignette decorated with a mercury glass cake stand that displays these votive candle holders, this pretty light pink Peony Bundle housed in this 3-D curvestake porcelain vase atop of this Paris in Bloom book.
I love having these planters with gold stands here on the fireplace hearth. I bought them a few years ago at HomeGoods but found the exact ones at Pier 1. I found these pretty pink and coral colored tuberous begonia plants at the local nursery. When it comes to green plants in general, I’m not the best at keeping them alive but for some reason, ones that flower pretty blooms…I tend to keep those types alive!

Spring Bedroom Refresh…
In the master bedroom, I did a mini refresh by swapping out the white duvet for a cream colored one and added decorative pillows in two different shades of taupe.
I found a perfect location for these pink and white realistic looking snapdragons, right here on our bedroom accent table. I searched the web for exact ones because similar won’t cut it and they either too expensive or are sold outside the U.S. however, I did find this person selling an exact stem on Ebay.
I had shared this spring arrangement on my makeup vanity before and I have to say, I’m still loving how it looks here. I bought these stems a year ago at Pier 1 but it doesn’t appear they carry it online so I found another source, here.
The benefit of good quality, life-like faux florals is it fills your home with spring’s beauty all year-round!
