I enjoy creating inspirational styled shoots so that I can get creative with my photography ideas. Usually, I’m not the one behind the lense, rather I’m the one creating a set for a shoot and giving some direction. Do you recall this last photo shoot I did with my sister over the summer? I enlisted her help again and decided I wanted to take a few snaps, capturing the fall season. My sister, Jo Ann is such a trooper and very photogenic. Between her and my spouse, they don’t mind participating in my shenanigans – ha! With the help of my spouse, we got in the car, turned on some holiday music, and travelved an hour up the mountains to an apple orchard.
This fall editorial shoot was inspired by the crisp air and feeling of Autumn and as the bountiful holiday of Thanksgiving approaches, the apple-filled farm and orchard was the perfect site to snap from. We allowed the colors and textures from the apple orchard to shine through. We wandered through the orchid, laughing as we couldn’t believe how windy and cold it was. Believe it or not but at the end of the shoot, it actually started to snow! Flurries of snow were floating in the winds and that was our cue to head back home and out of the cold mountain air.
Sweet, crunchy apples are one of Autumn’s favorite fruit. There are so many things you can make with apples, from appetizers to dessert. Pick any one of these delicious apple recipes to kick off your Thanksgiving feast.
