In Full Bloom – Peony inspired tablescape inspiration.

Who doesn’t adore peonies? Beautiful voluminous petals that resemble frilly ruffles, a subtle scent – they are among my favorite flowers. Since the peony season is normally from April through June, I had create a tablescape, making these jaw-dropping beauties the main attraction.

I had a bunch of peonies that started opening up and I was inspired to capture their beauty on a casual outdoor table setting. I pulled a tablecloth that has a floral motif – the perfect complement to the peonies. Rather than creating an arrangement with all the peonies gathered together in one vessel, I decided that they needed to be showcased individually. So, I used my collection of vintage bud vases and lined them down the center of the table. For the place setting, I used these adorable and inexpensive pink plastic dinner plate – bonus, it’s microwave and dishwasher safe! Want to know the price? It’s only a whopping $0.79 cents!! They are great for casual outdoor settings like this. Atop of the dinner plate, I placed a cream colored linen dinner napkin. I had a box set of premium heavyweight plastic flatware in a pretty pink vintage style. I found them at HomeGoods a couple of months ago – the brand is called Silver Spoons. A color palette of light pink hues for this outdoor occasion allows the surrounding nature to remain the center of attention.

Warm weather makes the ritual of dining together all the more perfect. Gather your girlfriends together for a celebration of a new season atop a beautiful peony-inspired table.
