If you haven’t tasted lavender lemonade, I think you should. I got the recipe from Simple Recipes and it is so G O O D!
After I let the lavender sugar and hot water infuse for 30 minutes, I actually didn’t stir in the lemon juice until the next morning. That’s why my lemonade has more of a pink color than that of a traditional pale yellow lemonade.
I actually like that it has more lavender for its aromatic flavor and not too much lemonade, which can be a bit tart. I used this ‘French Blue Lavender’.
I also tweaked the recipe by adding only 2 cups of freshly squeezed lemon juice verses the 2 1/2 cups the recipe calls for.
This is totally a new favorite beverage of mine that will surely quench my thirst on a hot summer day!
Lavender-infused lemonade is also a fancier and prettier way to serve along side lavender flavored macarons or shortbread cookies, when hosting a fete!
