Game night – whether it’s just you and your significant other, or invited couples, it’s like an adult play date where you laugh together, eat together, connect with each other, and have a good time.
As of late, my spouse and I haven’t had too much quality time together but when we can, I like to make our time spent to be fun and special. Recently, we’ve added a few new games to our collection and I thought to set up a cozy table for two for game night, to include a holiday displayed charcuterie board and red wine! Date night at home…our favorite thing to do. In today’s post, I’ll be sharing tips on how I created this holiday game night.
Let’s begin with the tasty food contents on this mouth-watering charcuterie board (or in this case a charcuterie plate). This is the best no-fuss party snack option. I love assembling a board filled with a few of our favorite sweet and savory treats – a definite crowd-pleaser for all to enjoy!
On the plate…
Savory bites:
- Hard Salami
- Smoked Gouda
- Vermont White Cheddar Cheese
- Queso Manchego
- Boursin Cheese Shallot & Chive
- Deluxe Roasted Mixed Nuts
Sweet bites:
- Red Grapes
- Fig spread
- Candied Walnuts
- Milk Chocolate Butter Toffee Almonds
- Chocolate Truffles
Keep the bread simple. I used Delallo Crostini Toasts. Add something spreadable, our favorite this time of year is Fig spread.
How perfect are these mini bamboo appetizer trays?! I adore anything mini! They come in a set of six and they are great to use for sampling items on a charcuterie board. Plus it doesn’t take up a lot of room on the table when you are using your tabletop for other things, like game night.
Fun wine labels can transform any plain bottle and make it a festive treat. I had written this post on these printable wine bottle labels. Click here, to download and print yours and dress up your wine bottle.
I had purchased these fun word cocktail picks a while back from Pier 1 Imports but found this Set of 4, Gilded Words Hors d’Oeuvre Cocktail Picks, that are similar.
Add simple holiday touches to your table like clippings of Christmas greenery and add a strand of twinkle fairy lights. Lastly, bring out those games for a fun filled night!
I hope you’ve been inspired to either throw a couples holiday game night at home or to get creative for a date night of game night, at-home with your significant other. It’s a great way to enjoy your spouse.
Cheers!
