One thing that will bring an instant smile to my face any day are flowers – there is something about them that are so cheerful! Whether I’m viewing a beautiful garden with an array of colorful flowers, perusing stunning arrangements on instagram or making one of my own, they inspire my creative spirit. As of late, I’ve been admiring a particular style of impressive floral arrangements from a few florists I follow. The drama of the way the designers position each flower to appear as though each bloom is mingling with the next, the way they let particular florals drape in its natural form, the free flowing design that is not structured and brings your eye in and around has a garden-style aesthetic – that is truly a creative work of art!
A look into some of the talented florists that inspire me with this type of floral design:
As of late, this way of styling a floral arrangement has inspired me to try my hand at it. I obviously have to keep at it in order to perfect my arrangements but I sure do have fun trying! In the first picture above, I created this flower arrangement using about nine different blooms. I centered the hydrangeas, since they are the larger blooms and I cut each other stem in a various of sizes so that the florals didn’t look so meticulously arranged. I styled an early fall vignette that lets the pink pop from all the natural white and browns.
Of course, I couldn’t help myself but to style this arrangement as a centerpiece for a tablescape design.
So what do you think? How did I do? If you are a florist and would like to share some tips, we are all ears! Feel free to comment below.
