With the holiday’s behind us and the new year rolling into view, even in small way – change is one of the most common things we try to achieve. Some may call it “resolutions” but I like to refer to it as “goals”. One of my goals is to lose weight. I’m the first to admit that my sweet tooth gets me into a lot of trouble and because of it and my poor eating habits, I have packed on the pounds! Damn, it sucks that the foods that taste sooo good are so bad for you! Dieting is not a motivator for me but with small steps to achieve my goals like eating smaller portions and swapping out sugared sweets for fruit, will be the beginning of my attempt to getting a better (healthier) body. Will I give up sweets all together? Probably not, but I will not make it as part of my daily food group!
Since I wake up at 6:00AM during the week and eat a light breakfast with coffee at 7:15AM, by 10:30AM I find myself always needing a snack. Usually that means, another cup of coffee and a cookie or breakfast bar. Well guys, I plan on changing that by substituting my mid morning snacks for healthy smoothies! I find smoothies to be filling and smoothie bowls allow for toppings that have the added crunch, so it doesn’t totally feel like a drink.
