A couple of basic wine and chocolate pairing rules mentioned in this post is 1. the wine should be a sweet as the chocolate and 2. Pair by color. The darker the chocolate, the darker the wine.
I gave an ordinary boxed chocolate cake mix some pizzazz by adding raspberry jam filling, covered with chocolate ganache, decorated with chocolate heart pieces, and crowned with a rose bud. Indulgent? Yes, indeed! It may not appear to be the best looking cake but I can attest to how delicious it is! I also added some chocolate covered cherries and chocolate truffles to the bar cart.

It’s that time when I need to purchase a calendar for the new year and as a long time admirer of the gorgeous work of Inslee Haynes, a talented artist, I knew her 2014 Calendar Inslee by Design was going to be the perfect purchase!
