About Design by Occasion

behindDBO

“Design by Occasion is born of my desire to ‘Celebrating All of Life’s Joys’ – from major milestones to the smallest moments, to the joy of living and everything in between.”

Design by Occasion was launched in 2010 and has evolved with a passion to create and decorate, a designation devoted to creating the chicest home, entertaining in style, and a source of lifestyle inspiration – dedicated to inspire readers like you.

Here at DBO, no matter what the occasion, we enjoy celebrating all of life’s joys. The joys of life for us are opening our eyes in the morning hours to discover a brand new day, creating memories with those special people in our lives, sharing laughs that make everything, recreating timeless traditions, yet being inspired to discover new experiences of the everyday. On the pages you see here on the blog, we aim to bring original content to inspire a connection amongst food, chic entertaining & pretty celebrations, beautiful home design and lifestyle.

We hope that our food recipes gives you the desire to want to try it for dinner tonight and our cocktail recipes inspires you to want to gather your girlfriends for an impromptu girls night, at home. If it’s a tablescape we are styling for an intimate dinner party or a milestone occasion, we believe what makes a meal memorable is the little finishing touches, the special ambiance, and the company you keep. We hope that it inspires the same for you. When it comes to interior spaces, we love to decorate and redecorate! We hope you find inspiration from our seasonal refresh home-styling tips, our floral arrangement DIY’s, to our home decor finds and how we incorporate them in special vignettes, and how we decorate for the holiday’s. We believe it’s not the material things that make up a home, yet it’s the feeling you get with what you created in your home that not only makes it a beautiful place to be but a wonderful place you rather be in.

Celebrate all of life’s joys and do so in style! Thank you for following along!

“Your home should tell the story of who you are, and be a collection of what you love.”  – Nate Berkus
